Managing Careers Sites and Site Content
Create, edit, preview, publish, and manage the candidate-facing careers site experience.
Careers sites are the candidate-facing websites connected to your recruiting workspace. Use them to present your company, show open roles, collect applications, and provide the privacy information candidates need before or during an application.
Use this guide when you are maintaining the careers site itself: pages, branding, navigation, domains, previews, and site lifecycle. For making a prepared job appear to candidates, use the guide Publishing Jobs Through a Careers Site.
The Careers sites area separates a site’s working draft from its published version. You can prepare and preview changes without changing what candidates see. The published version changes only after you publish it.
Prerequisites
Before you manage a careers site, make sure that:
- You can sign in to the recruiting application.
- You are working inside the correct company workspace.
- Your role includes access to Careers sites. Company administrators and content editors can work with site content; creating sites, changing public access, and managing custom domains require administrator access.
- Any job you want candidates to see is prepared for publication.
- The company name, brand assets, application fields, and candidate privacy notice are ready for review.

What you can do in Careers sites
From Settings > Careers sites, you can:
- Review active sites and their language, address, publication state, and access state.
- Edit a site’s pages, navigation, branding, header, footer, and site settings.
- Add content pages and decide whether they appear in the main navigation.
- Preview draft changes and review the published version.
- Publish a draft when it is ready.
- Create another site for a different language or brand.
- Duplicate a site as a private, unpublished copy.
- Choose which active site is Primary.
- Archive an active site or restore an archived site privately.
- Review or manage a Custom domain when that setting is available to you.
Each active site shows whether it is Published or Draft, and whether access is Public or Administrators only. A public site has a candidate-facing address. An administrator-only site remains private while you test its published workflow.
Create a careers site
Only a company administrator can create a site.
- Open Settings > Careers sites.
- Select Create careers site.
- Enter a Site name. This is used internally and becomes the initial public site title.
- Choose a Language.
- Choose a Starting template.
- Select Create site.
The new site starts as an unpublished site visible only to administrators. Review and edit it before making it available to candidates. Active sites must have different names.
Choose and open a site
On the Careers sites overview, review the site cards before opening one. Confirm the Language, Address, Last updated time, and the Primary, Published, or access badges.
Use the action that matches your goal:
- Select Edit site to work on the draft.
- Select Open live site when the site is published and public.
- Select Test published site when the site is published but Administrators only.
- Select Duplicate to create a private copy for another language, brand, or redesign.
- Select Make primary when this should be the default active site.
- Select Archive when the site should no longer be active.
The overview may show a hosted address even when a custom domain is not connected. A public custom domain is used only after its status is active.
Edit the site draft
- Select Edit site for the site you want to change.
- Use Pages to choose the homepage or another page.
- Use Sections to add or adjust page content.
- Use Outline when you need to inspect the page structure.
- Use Site settings for publishing, access, branding, the homepage template, and the hosted address.
- Open Header or Footer when you need to adjust shared site links and labels.
- Select Preview changes to review the draft.
Changes save to the draft automatically. They do not replace the published site until you publish them.

Manage pages and navigation
The Pages panel groups pages into three areas:
- Main navigation contains pages shown in the careers-site navigation.
- Unlinked pages contains public pages that do not appear in the main navigation.
- System pages are supplied from jobs, application settings, and privacy settings.
For an editable page, select Edit sections. For an authored page, you can also:
- Select Add to navigation to show an unlinked page in the site navigation.
- Select Unlink to remove a page from the main navigation without deleting it.
- Use the move controls to change its order.
- Select Preview to see the page.
To add a page:
- Open Pages and select Add page.
- Enter an Internal name, Page title, and Page address.
- Choose a Starting point: Blank page or Story page.
- Choose a Placement: Main navigation or Unlinked.
- Select Create page.
- Select Edit sections to add the page content.
The Open roles page is connected to published jobs. Use its Display choice to show roles as a Homepage section or on a Separate page, then select Edit section when you need to adjust the section on the homepage.
Other system pages use the information already configured elsewhere:
- Job details uses content saved on each job.
- Application uses the application fields configured for each job.
- Privacy uses the notice published from Data privacy settings.
If there is no published job, or the site is not live, some system-page previews are unavailable. Prepare the related job or privacy notice first, then preview again.
Update branding
Open Site settings and use Brand to update:
- Site name
- Logo, shown in the header and footer
- Favicon
- Brand colour, used for headings, links, and actions
Changes save to the draft automatically. Use the existing company brand so candidates can recognize the site and trust the application experience.
Update the header and footer
Open Header to adjust the visible Header label, optional Careers label, label position, Homepage label, and Jobs label.
Open Footer to maintain the company link and contact details:
- Company website
- Recruitment email
- YouTube
- TikTok
These fields are optional. Only configured social profiles appear on the site. Changes save to the draft automatically.
Preview and publish changes
Use this sequence whenever you change candidate-facing content:
- Make the content or settings changes in the editor.
- Select Preview changes.
- Check the homepage, navigation, open roles, job details, application experience, and privacy information.
- Confirm that the intended jobs are published and that their candidate-facing content is complete.
- Select Publish when the draft is ready.
- Review the publication dialog, then select Publish site for the first publication or Publish changes for a later update.
- Reopen the published site or select Open published site from Site settings.
Publishing replaces the current live version with the reviewed draft. If the site is private, publishing creates a new administrator-only version; public access remains off until an administrator changes Access to Everyone.
If another tab changed the draft, the editor asks you to Reload latest draft before publishing or replacing content. If saving fails, use Retry saving. A failed publication does not discard the saved draft.

Set site access
Open Site settings > Publishing and review Access.
- Administrators only keeps the published workflow private for testing.
- Everyone allows anyone with the site address to open it.
Only a company administrator can change this setting. The site must be published before public access can be enabled. Public access may also be unavailable while the company requires verification, public careers publishing is unavailable, or the site language does not have a published applicant privacy notice.
When public access is turned off, administrators can still test the published workflow. If you cannot change Access, ask a company administrator to review the site’s publication and company-readiness requirements.
Use a custom domain
The Custom domain setting is in Site settings > Advanced. It shows Not connected when no custom domain is configured, or it shows the connected address and its current status.
Company administrators can select Manage to:
- Publish the hosted site first.
- Select Connect domain and enter the company-owned hostname.
- Add the requested DNS records for the domain.
- Select Verify DNS after the records are available.
- Wait for activation, then confirm that the address opens the intended site.
The status tells you what to do next:
- Waiting for DNS means the required DNS records still need to be added or detected.
- Activation in progress means DNS verification succeeded and activation is continuing; no further action is required at that moment.
- Connected means the domain is active. The site may still be offline if public access is off.
Use Replace TXT value if the verification value must be refreshed. Use Disconnect domain before moving the domain to another site or archiving the site. Other users may see View instead of Manage and can review the status without changing it.
Duplicate, make primary, archive, and restore
Duplicate a site
- Return to Settings > Careers sites.
- Select Duplicate on the active site.
- Give the copy a unique name.
- Review the new private draft before publishing it.
The copy is unpublished and private. Use this when preparing another language, brand, or independent version without changing the existing site.
Make a site primary
Select Make primary on the active site that should be the default. You must choose another active site as primary before archiving the current primary site.
Archive and restore a site
Select Archive only when the site is no longer needed as an active site. A site with a custom domain must have that domain disconnected or transferred first, and a primary site cannot be archived until another active site is primary.
To restore a site:
- Open the Archived sites section.
- Select Restore privately.
- Resolve any active-site name conflict if the application asks you to rename the active site.
- Review the restored draft before publishing it.
Restored sites remain private until you deliberately publish them and, if appropriate, enable public access.
Role-aware access
Your role determines which Careers sites controls you can see and change.
| Role or access level | Careers sites access you can typically expect |
|---|---|
| Company administrator | Create sites; edit content; publish; change Access; manage domains; duplicate, make primary, archive, and restore sites. |
| Content editor | Open Careers sites, edit site content, and use the available preview or publishing controls. Public access, site creation, lifecycle actions, and custom-domain management remain administrator controls. |
| Team member, dedicated team member, limited team member, or reviewer | Careers-site administration is not included in the role’s shared settings access. You may still see candidate-facing sites as a candidate or use job and application areas allowed by your scope. |
| External recruiter | Use the separate External recruiter workspace. Careers-site administration is not part of that workspace. |
The exact controls also depend on site state and company readiness. For example, an administrator may see Publish but still be unable to publish publicly until the company and privacy requirements are complete.
Common issues
You are in the wrong company workspace
The Careers sites list belongs to the active company workspace. Use the account menu to switch company, then open Settings > Careers sites again.
You do not see Careers sites
Your role may not include careers-site management. Ask a company administrator to confirm your role or make the change for you. A content editor can manage site content, while other internal roles normally do not receive this shared settings area.
You can edit a draft but cannot make the site public
Public access is an administrator control. The site also must be published, eligible for public careers publishing, and backed by the required privacy notice for its language.
Candidates still see the old content
Draft changes are not live until you select Publish and complete the publication dialog. After publishing, use Open published site to verify the result.
A page or system preview is unavailable
The page may depend on a published job, a published site, or a live customer site. Complete the related setup, publish the required item, and try the preview again.
You cannot archive or restore a site
Check whether the site is primary, has a custom domain, or conflicts with the name of an active site. Resolve that condition first, then retry the lifecycle action.
Your changes will not save
The draft may have changed in another tab, or your access may have changed. Select Reload latest draft, Reload editor, or Retry saving as shown. If the problem continues, ask an administrator to confirm that you still have access to the site.
